Walnut Grove is located strategically along the "Automotive Corridor" of the South, just 15 miles North of Interstate 20 at Forest, Mississippi, 13 miles from Mississippi 4-lane Highway 25, and just 46 miles from Nissan at Canton, Mississippi.

The Town of Walnut Grove has partnered with the Leake County Board of Supervisors, Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, City of Carthage, and private industry to improve the economic condition of this area. This partnership is realized through the Leake County Industrial Development Association.
In the 1990s, the Town of Walnut Grove worked closely with the Leake County Industrial Development Association to secure land for the Walnut Grove Industrial Park on Mississippi Highway 35.
