
The Thursday Club of Walnut Grove will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the parking lot of the Walnut Grove Public Library from 7:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Proceeds will be used for scholarships and other charitable community projects. A wide variety of plants, including hanging baskets will be available at competitive prices. The public is invited to attend.
The Thursday Club of Walnut Grove will have a booth at Square Affair on May 17th. They will have a bake sale and a raffle on a piece of "Truly Southern" Gail Pittman Pottery. Proceeds will be used for scholarships and other charitable community projects.

Our 125 acre industrial park has water, sewer, natural gas, and electric utilities on-site and has been designated as part of a federal renewal community. This park and a number of available buildings but industrial and retail are located just 15 miles north of I-20, the Automotive Corridor of the Southeast and just 46 miles from the new Nissan Automotive Plant at Canton, MS.

GOLDEN MEMORIAL PARK HOURS EXTENDED
With the cooperation of the Leake County, Scott County, the Town of Walnut Grove, and State Representative Bennett Malone, hours at Golden Memorial State Park on Hwy 492 East of Walnut Grove have been extended. The park Is now open daily from 7 AM – 6 PM. Golden Memorial State Park commemorates the old Golden School (circa 1877), a one room school house. Nestled in a vale surrounded with pine and hardwood trees, Golden Memorial State Park consists of 120 acres including a 18 acre spring fed lake stocked with catfish, bass, and brim, picnic pavilions, walking trails, and restroom facilities.
